Nationals Unveil New Culinary Offerings from Union Square Hospitality Group at Miller Lite Scoreboard Walk on Tuesday, June 14 Nationals fans to enjoy the best in ballpark eats from Blue Smoke, Shake Shack, El Verano Taquería, and Box Frites

Washington, D.C., June 13, 2011 – The Washington Nationals are thrilled to announce the grand opening of four new eateries from Danny Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group (USHG) at Nationals Park. Blue Smoke, Shake Shack, El Verano Taquería and Box Frites make their debut on the Miller Lite Scoreboard Walk on Tuesday, June 14 when the Nationals host the St. Louis Cardinals at 7:05 p.m.

Fans can choose from a variety of new culinary offerings including mouthwatering real pit barbecue from Blue Smoke, addictive Belgian-style fries and dipping sauces at Box Frites, authentic Mexican food and flavors at El Verano Taquería, and ShackBurgers, hot dogs and frozen custard from the popular Shake Shack. The Nationals collaborated closely with USHG to create this iconic ballpark destination that brilliantly showcases the company’s renowned cuisine.

The new food options will highlight a completely refreshed Miller Lite Scoreboard Walk, which features live trees and plants that give the space a park-like atmosphere. The cutting-edge redesigned space will give fans an “All-American” baseball experience, inspired by the game’s backyard origins. Guests can relax and stay cool under 14 shade sails (provided by Tenshon) in a casual lounge-like setting.

“Our fans will be treated to a completely different experience the minute they step onto the Miller Lite Scoreboard Walk,” Nationals Chief Operating Officer Andrew C. Feffer said. “This will become the hottest destination in sports, pairing unique designs, inspired hospitality, and lush greenery with the delicious new food items from USHG.”

In addition to the new offerings, $5 happy hour beer specials will be available 2 ½ hours prior to scheduled first pitch at the Miller Lite Scoreboard Walk Bar for ALL remaining home games of the 2011 season.

Located on the Mezzanine Level behind the Main Scoreboard, the Miller Lite Scoreboard Walk offers fans an elevated view of the field while enjoying an exceptional combination of dining choices, pregame music and drink specials only available at Nationals Park. This ballpark hotspot has been enhanced with the addition of a 15’ x 25’ HDTV screen behind the scoreboard and brand new furniture, giving fans a place to kick back without missing a minute of the action on the field.
