June 19, 2001, North Bethesda, Maryland – Lerner Enterprises announced today that Safeway Food & Drug will anchor its new FALLSGROVE VILLAGE CENTER, part of the new and exciting Fallsgrove mixed use development in Rockville, Maryland. The retail center will accommodate over forty retail stores, restaurants, banks, and a variety of neighborhood retail services. The Safeway will be one of the brand new prototype stores with 57,000 square feet and will anchor this project which is scheduled to open Spring 2002.
Fallsgrove Village Center is a retail/office project located at the main entrance to the Fallsgrove development fronting Shady Grove road at Fallsgrove Boulevard/Medical Center Way directly across from the Shady Grove Medical Complex. The project includes a 150,000 square foot community retail center and a 75,000 square foot Class "A" three story Office Building. The project was designed by Bignell, Watkins, Hasser Architects of Annapolis, Maryland.
Also being developed by Lerner Enterprises within the Fallsgrove development is Fallsgrove Corporate Center, a 208,000 square foot Class "A" Office Building and Fallsgrove Executive Plaza, a 240,000 square foot Class "A" space on Shady Grove Road.
Fallsgrove is a 257 acre mixed-use master planned development on the former Thomas Farm site in Rockville, (Montgomery County) Maryland. It is located at the confluence of Shady Grove Road, Darnestown Road and Key West Avenue. Fallsgrove will include 950,000 square feet of office and research & development space, 1,530 residential units and 150,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space.
