Washington, D.C., January 11, 2010 - Cushman & Wakefield today announced that its newly recruited Executive Director, Petch Gibbons, has joined the firm’s marketing team for Washington Square, a  12 story landmark office tower located in the heart of the Central Business District at 1050 Connecticut Avenue, Northwest, Washington, D.C.  Washington Square is a joint development of Lerner Enterprises and The Tower Companies, two of the largest owners and developers of Class ‘A’ office space in the Washington, D.C. area.

“We are delighted to have Petch on board with Cushman & Wakefield to support our marketing campaign for this world class property,” said Cushman & Wakefield’s Executive Director Brian F. Tucker who is leading the Washington Square account team. “Petch is an accomplished veteran who brings a high powered network of relationships to the table in addition to his executive level experience. He has already hit the ground running for our team.”

Washington Square is now undergoing a complete transformation internally and externally with a state-of-the-art-renovation including new architectural features and the use of cutting edge designs and technology.  The main entrance of the building will be accentuated with glass and stainless steel canopies with highly visible LED illumination. A modernized security infrastructure and visitor access system will be installed and dramatic new streetscape improvements are being added as part of the project which will include a flamed granite sidewalk pavers that wrap the entire building perimeter.

In addition, high definition audio visual displays and digital signage will be installed on the lobby level. Office elevator lobby renovations will include a full-height glass entry and marble flooring.  A concierge desk, touch screen directories, integrated high-def flat panel televisions and commissioned glass feature wall and artwork will adorn the public areas.

Renovations of the garage valet area and main parking level lobby entrance will create a functional and visitor friendly entrance to the building from the parking garage and also will include new marble floor and walls, new ceiling and lighting, a seating area and greenscape.

An innovative lighting design will feature energy efficient light fixtures, accent art lighting and perimeter cove lighting in the office lobby, atrium lobby and in the parking garage lobby.  New training equipment, flat panel monitors and eco-friendly enhancements will be added to the Washington Square Fitness Center.  On the Concourse level, a new decor, artwork, seating area and lighting enhancements are being added.
