Dulles, Virginia, February 2, 2007 – Dulles Town Center, Loudoun County’s premier shopping destination, is proud to announce that a lease has been signed for Virginia’s first Benihana Restaurant, the nation’s largest retail chain of Japanese and sushi themed restaurants.  To be located adjacent to the Dulles Town Center Mall, the new 7,000 square foot restaurant will be built with a contemporary design and is expected to be completed in late 2007.   The 1.4 million square foot mall is a joint venture development between Lerner and CIGNA.

“Since our opening in 1999, Loudoun County’s population has grown tremendously affording us the opportunity to add destination retailers such as Benihana, Nordstrom, The Cheesecake Factory, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and LA Fitness to our upscale offerings,” said Arthur N. Fuccillo, Senior Executive Vice President/Development and Construction for Lerner.  “These additions solidify our position as the leading shopping and lifestyle destination in the wealthiest county in the nation,” he added.

Benihana restaurants are traditional Japanese-style hibachi steakhouses – also called "teppanyaki." At Benihana, meals are prepared and served by performing chefs in front of customers at their table. Diners can choose from a variety of fresh sushi and other Japanese favorites.

The addition of Benihana will complement the recently opened The Cheesecake Factory that has opened to rave reviews, in addition to the 185 stores and restaurants at Dulles Town Center.
