Germantown, Maryland (June 29, 2018) – Lerner Enterprises, Washington, D.C.’s largest private real estate developer, is proud to announce that it has begun construction of Black Hill Apartments, Phase I, a new luxury apartment home community in Germantown, Maryland. The 649-unit residential community features a unique urban design with premium amenities and open floor plans. Construction of Phase I, consisting of 355 units, has started, and initial delivery is projected to occur in early 2020, with final completion in late 2020. The premier location of this diverse and active mixed-use community provides easy access to I-270, the planned Corridor City Transit (CCT) stop, Germantown Town Center and Black Hill Regional Park in Montgomery County, Maryland.

At full build out, the 110-acre mixed-use development will feature over three million square feet of upscale office, residential, senior living, retail and hotel uses, all organized around a central boulevard with green space and interconnected pedestrian-oriented streets. Tribute at Black Hill, a 140 unit Senior Living Community within the Black Hill Master Plan, also began construction in spring 2018 with anticipated completion in the fall of 2019.

The apartment homes offer contemporary, open floor plans with streamlined kitchens ideal for entertaining, and luxurious finishes such as quartz countertops, stainless steel appliances and wood flooring throughout all living areas. This pet friendly community features amenities such as a park with a hiking/biking trail, multiple children’s play areas, picnic facilities, a bocce courtyard, as well as several smaller pocket parks. The club house amenity includes a courtyard, lounge seating, spa, outdoor swimming pool with outdoor TV area and exercise lawn, adjacent to the state of the art fitness center.

Hord Coplan Macht of Baltimore, Maryland is the architect and WCS Construction of Washington, DC is the General Contractor of the project.

“We are excited to break ground on our newest master-planned mixed-use community.” said Mark D. Lerner, a principal of Lerner.  “Black Hill will offer a vibrant sense of place in an easily accessible natural setting; our future residents will appreciate the many fine details that have been included in our new community.” he added.

The community will be unique in its park-like setting, which will encourage an active and healthy lifestyle. Both the project’s architecture and landscaping are inspired by nature and are designed with the certification goal of LEED® Silver for New Construction, reinforcing Lerner’s commitment to responsible and sustainable development.
